Dear Parents and Kol Shalom Members,
It has been a Shaare Torah tradition and one that I was planning on bringing to Kol Shalom this year to donate Thanksgiving baskets filled with all the fixings and a gift certificate to 15 families in need to enjoy a festive holiday.
This letter provides a list of food items by grade that we ask you to bring to either Shaare Torah or Kol Shalom by November 19. If you do not have a child in KSTT, you may still participate.
Your donation needs to be dropped off at Kol Shalom by November 19.
After school and lunch on November 22nd, weather and Covid 19 issues permitting, KSTT students who pre-register to attend the November 22nd Tzedakah program will make cards and centerpieces, sort the food into categories, prepare games and assemble the baskets. The completed baskets will then be delivered to JSSA where they will distribute the baskets to the families.
This collaborative project between Shaare Torah and Kol Shalom highlights what is best about our shuls…a willingness to help others.
Kindergarten/1st Grade – 2 cans of canned fruit
2nd Grade – 1 box of cake mix and frosting or 1 box of pudding mix or 1 box of Entenmann’s
3rd Grade – 2 boxes or bags of rice or pasta
4th Grade – 2 boxes or bags of stuffing mix
5th Grade – 2 cans of yams or 2 cans of sweet potatoes
6th Grade -2 cans of cranberry sauce or 2 bags of cranberries
7th Grade – 2 cans of green vegetables
If you do not have children in the school, you can still participate! Please provide — Thanksgiving paper products: dessert plates, dinner plates, cold cups, or hot cups. …
