Joseph: Family Strife and Reconciliation in Jewish Thought and Visual Art
Sunday, March 19th at Kol Shalom
Join us for a two-session (March 19 and April 23) study of the Joseph story facilitated by Marc Lieber. We will study the Torah story, classical paintings depicting the story of Joseph's relationship with his family, and Jewish commentary (midrash), all for the goal of understanding the story and what this teaches us in our own relationships as brothers, sisters, children, and parents. Commentaries and painters range from ancient to modern. After this class, you will read the Joseph story in a new light, and your future trips to art museums will have a fresh perspective.
