Kol Shalom Book Club

Kol Shalom's Book Club will read Barren Island, by Carol Zoref, as its next selection - a novel about immigrants in the early 20th century, recognized by the Jewish Book Council and the National Book Awards. Discussion will be on Sunday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. in the Kol Shalom youth lounge. We welcome readers whenever they can participate.

Kol Shalom Book Club

Book Club Chooses Debut Novel

Kol Shalom's book club will read the novel Asymmetry, by Lisa Halliday, as its next selection. It is one of the  highly acclaimed books of 2018. The group will meet on January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the home of Eve and Howard Shapiro. We welcome interested readers whenever they can participate. 

 

 

Kol Shalom Book Club

Book Club Focuses on Lincoln and Jews

The next selection of the Kol Shalom book club will be Lincoln and the Jews: A History, by Jonathan Sarna and Benjamin Shapell. The book draws from Shapell's photo and manuscript collection to describe Lincoln's personal and political relationships with Jewish people. The book club will meet on Sunday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kol Shalom youth lounge. We welcome readers whenever they can participate.

The next selection of the Kol Shalom book club will be My Father's Paradise: A Son’s Search for His Jewish Past in Kurdish Iraq, by Ariel Sabar. The discussion will take place on Sunday, November 18, at 10:30 in the youth lounge at Kol Shalom. We welcome all readers whenever they can participate.
